The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is the governing body of high school athletics and activities in the state of Washington.

WIAA places member schools into one of six tiered classifications based on enrollment: 1B, 2B, 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A.
A 1B school has fewer than 87 students, 2B between 88 and 187 students, 1A between 188 and 467 students, 2A between 468 and 918 students, 3A between 919 and 1280 students, and the largest schools, 4A, have 1281 or more students. However, some schools may choose to "opt up" to a larger classification than they would normally be assigned.<ref="http://www.wiaa.com/classification/schools08-10.aspx">
